‘The Fry Chronicles’ is the second instalment of Stephen Fry’s autobiography and it neatly picks up where `Moab is my Washpot’ left off. Stephen Fry’s life has been conducted with a spirit of adventure, which makes it great fun to read about.

His story unfolds he recounts his relationships with the big comedy stars of the eighties and nineties and whilst he never intentionally `name-drops’ his friendships read like a who’s who of British comedy and acting talent. At times it seems as though he is dropping one name after another, and he has known a lot of well know persons, but his writing also gets across a level of discomfort about doing dropping names, that you (at times) feel as though are in a one on one conversation.

It is beautifully written, and he brings all kinds of moments to life with fantastic wit, astonishing honesty, and deliciously vivid prose.  As you read each wonderful chapter, you begin to realize just how many of the British film, stage, and television stars who we all love are his university contemporaries and friends. I loved his stories, was shocked by his honesty, and could not believe how he ends this book.
